Generally speaking, we prefer to receive your order before 2:00 pm on the business day prior to delivery to ensure availability of all menu items.
Absolutely! you can order as early as you wish! Advance ordering is a best practice for many events, especially during hectic periods such as the holidays or back-to-school season.
Delivery windows can be chosen at checkout. Your delivery will arrive during the window you have selected. You will receive an email confirmation of your order after it has been placed that contains your delivery information. Your credit card will only be charged once the order has been fulfilled and has left our facility. Exact cost of delivery varies and will be included on your order at checkout.
Aquatopia Casual Catering does everything in its power to ensure the highest degree of food safety for our customers. This includes diligently adhering to food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards. Despite these efforts, it is impossible for Aquatopia Casual Catering to ensure its prepared products are free from allergens or cross-contamination. Although we pay great attention to allergies, our kitchens are open-concept areas. All our dishes may therefore contain traces of gluten, nuts, peanuts, dairy products, lactose, soy, sesame, fish/seafood and eggs. As such, Aquatopia Casual Catering cannot be held responsible for cases of allergic reactions due to food intolerances.
Aquatopia Casual Catering runs a closed kitchen, and does not have a retail food service location where you can pick up your order. All our menu options are available with delivery only.
In breaking with the North American culture of tipping for everything, Aquatopia Casual Catering has opted to abandon pressuring our clients to tip during checkout and delivery, as we have chosen to pay our staff a living wage instead. You should not feel obliged in any way to tip for our services. The total price you see on your order is the price you pay.
Generally, we do not charge any fees when you contact us by phone to cancel or modify your order by phone
before 2:00 pm on the business day prior to your scheduled delivery date. However, if you wish to remove items after that time, Aquatopia Casual Catering retains the right to charge you a compensatory amount equal to 50% of the initial order total.
In rare circumstances, we can add items to your existing order after 2:00 pm on the business day prior to your scheduled delivery date, if it is received no less than four (4) hours in advance. However, we ask that you contact us by phone in those circumstances as you will be blocked from doing so online, and our culinary team needs to confirm the availability of ingredients before accepting the modifications to your order. Note that any cancellations made on the day of your delivery are not refundable.
It is very important to check your order immediately after you receive it. Contacting us right away will help us make things right if there is a mistake. Depending on the situation, we can exchange items, complete your order, or credit you for the items affected by the error. Our sales department can provide you with some guidance.
You will be prompted to provide a payment method when you set up your account with us. Aquatopia Casual Catering accepts all major credit cards.
Aquatopia Casual Catering has taken the following practical steps to help protect our natural environment:
-
By creating portioned menu offerings as opposed to traditional bulk catering platters & pans, our culinary team has been able to significantly reduce food waste and energy consumption by as much as 25%.
-
All of the water used in our facilities, and for the preparation of our meals, is drawn from natural wells and filtered using Kalox filters, reverse osmosis, and UV sterilization. When you’re named ‘Aquatopia’, you’ve gotta have the cleanest water possible!
-
Sewage is treated onsite using certified and tested EcoFlo septic technologies, so our wastewater is never discharged into our native streams, rivers and lakes.
-
Any stormwater from the landscaped areas, rooftops, and parking spaces on our property is captured and diverted to a 1.3 million litre stormwater basin designed with a skimmer intake bay and constructed wetland filter to continuously circulate, aerate, and purify the pond water column. The system is so effective, that the surface runoff leaving our property is nearly potable and our staff actually use the pond to go swimming after work on hot summer days.
-
We maintain a 600 square metre organic vegetable garden at our facility and grow much of the produce required for the food we prepare. Some of the items include tomatoes, peppers, bok choy, eggplant, zucchini, beets, asparagus, garlic, and onions. We also grow a variety of fresh herbs, microgreens, and edible florals in our greenhouse, and we have recently installed a berry orchard to grow raspberries & blackberries used in many of our desserts.
-
And of course, all of our food packaging is fully recyclable or compostable, including cutlery.
